YMC Chairman, Roy Marsh and workshop organiser and editor of "Secrets" magazine Mandy Davis, were at The Magic Circle earlier this week renewing their First Aid qualifications.

In order to be able to run the workshops and supervise a large group of people it is a legal requirement that at each event at least one person in charge is a qualified first aider. Both Mandy & Roy qualified originally 3 years ago. Tuesday the 3rd May saw both YMC team members renewing their award and learning about the changes that have occurred in the best practice of first aid since they last attended. The course included CPR and other life saving skills. For example do you know how to treat a burn? or how to help a small child which is choking? What would you do if you found someone unconscious and you were on your own? Well, don't worry because if any of these things happen at a workshop, Roy & Mandy will rush to your aid and give you the latest treatment whilst waiting for the paramedics to arrive.

The course was run by John Hill, a member of The Magic Circle and a very experienced teacher of all things medical on behalf of The British Red Cross. Thanks John for helping us to help others.
