J-Day 2008.
As always the Young Magicians Club will be holding their annual one-day convention in October. This exciting day will include a lecture, 'An Audience with... ', a dealers' room, a gala show and the finals of our two annual competitions - one for stage and one for close-up magic.
If you are a member of YMC, and wish to be considered a contender for either or both of these exciting competitions you will need to enter auditions, held in London, on Saturday 20th September. You will perform in front of members of YMC and also two to three judges. Acts should last for 8 - 10 minutes maximum and be something you have worked on and rehearsed, not just decided to stand up and perform on the spur of the moment.
We are looking for a maximum of twelve stage acts for the auditions and fifteen close up acts. From these six of each will be chosen to compete in the finals on Sunday 19th October. As well as the main prizes there are two others up for grabs in either discipline - the Peter McCahon Award for Originality and the Kaymar Komedy Cup.
If you wish to enter, or wish to receive the rules of the competitions, please email Mandy@TheMagicCircle.co.uk
