Every seat in The Magic Circle theatre was sold out well in advance of J-Day which, this year, celebrated the 10th Anniversary of YMC.

For the very first time a trophy bearing the name of the late Peter McCahon was presented by past Young Magicians Club chairman Roy Marsh at the awards ceremony which took place before the gala show.

Members and non-members travelled to London from as far afield as Scotland and Ireland to enjoy interviews with TV star Ali Cook and magic legend David Berglas. There were finals for both stage and close up auditions, several dealers sold their wares - and a gala show, starring Marc Paul, Alex Lodge, Dave Allen and Richard Pinner, completed the event .

The Pete McCahon Originality in Magic Trophy was won by David Loosley and this was accompanied by a personal cheque from Roy for £100.00.

Another new trophy, the Kaymar Komedy Cup, was also presented for the first time and was once again won by David, whose act also included YMC member Joe Derrington; they also won third place overall in the stage competition.
